Evaluating the effectiveness of Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) as an intervention for children in foster care with emotional or behavioural problems: a phase II (feasibility) randomised controlled trial.
In this project, we are undertaking a feasibility study of a new form of family treatment for children in foster care who have emotional or behavioural difficulties. The treatment uses the framework of mentalization to help carers, children and the professionals working with them to communicate more effectively and improve the quality of their relationships and interactions, which in turn are expected to improve the child's behaviour and emotional adjustment.
