COCCINELLA Conserving Carpets Cultural and Inclusive Exhibition of Living and Labour Areas
Historic buildings need to carry alterations to make their buildings accessible to disabled people under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA). The National Trust faces the challenge of creating accessibility for its 300 buildings as well as providing reasonable alternatives to visitors in case access in not possible. The research aims at providing owners and managers of historic houses with methods to minimize the damage from wheelchairs on carpets.
