HEPSIS Developing a Heterogeneous Pedestrian Simulation on Stairs
The aim of this research is to develop a microscopic pedestrian simulation, which focuses on stairs.
One of the advantages of the simulation is that each pedestrian in the simulation has a unique walking speed based on an experiment and a national fitness survey data. Another advantage is detailed collision avoidance manoeuvre, which takes account of the field of vision of pedestrians on stairs. With the proposed simulation, we can represent more
detailed pedestrian movement in public transport facilities, such as underground stations.
