Bartlett Synergy Grant: The aim of this project is to build collaboration between Bartlett colleagues in the School of Planning and Space Syntax Laboratory (School of Architecture) with a shared interest in the place of manufacturing industry in the ‘post-industrial’ city. We seek to rethink current conventions in planning for ‘mixed use’ urban environments that we believe are too generic to be sensitive to the complex requirements of contemporary urban manufacturing or the relationship between those businesses and the locality in which they thrive.
