Maximising health benefits of mixed-use development
The project is exploring the implementation of the health and wellbeing agenda in property development. The scope is international (through semi-structured interviews in six countries) and local (through an action research case study in South London). The project investigates the enablers and barriers to implementation of design and planning measures in diverse projects, including perceived impacts on health inequities. The project supported development of a new framework for the integration of health and sustainability principles in new development, the THRIVES Framework, and this is being implemented and evaluated in the South London case study.
