NIHR ARC North Thames
NIHR ARC North Thames is hosted by Barts Health NHS Trust, and is led by Director, Prof Rosalind Raine (UCL). The ARC is a partnership of six leading universities (UCL, QMUL, LSE, LSHTM, City and UEL), UCLPartners, NHS trusts, clinical commissioning groups, councils, organisations representing patients and communities, and industry. It covers the geographical area of north central and north east London, south and west Hertfordshire, south Bedfordshire and south west and mid-Essex. ARC North Thames focuses on five themes: mental health, multimorbidity, population health and social care, innovation and implementation, health economics and data. It is also designated as the national ARC lead for population health. As a member of ARC North Thames Research Partnership Team, I work with NHS organisations and local authorities to explore the potential for research into service priorities and needs to improve population health. Several projects involve the linkage of local NHS and council data to advance understanding of inequalities across the health and care system.
