The research project is funded by the Bartlett Research Grants Scheme 2020 and investigates the use of functionally graded materials to ameliorate the insulating properties of curtain wall envelopes. This is something that can effectively minimise the amount of energy for heating and cooling and effectively the running costs of a building.
