The Development of a Local Urban Climate Model and its Application to the Intelligent Design of Cities (LUCID)
Research project funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) that explored how cities can adapt to a changing climate through the development of methods for calculating local temperature and air quality in the urban environment. These tools allowed the assessment of the impact on energy use and the consequences for health of a changing climate, as well as the implications for urban planning.
