EPSRC: Spatio-Temporal Analysis of Network Data and Route Dynamics (STANDARD)
A 3-year EPSRC-funded research project to investigate spatio-temporal characteristics of data from transport networks. The STANDARD project encompasses and builds upon a broad range of modelling approaches in spatio-temporal analysis, complexity science and state of the art 3D visualisation. Using real-time traffic data, STANDARD presents an innovative approach to detect, analyse, predict and visualise traffic congestion, using concepts from network complexity and methods of spatio-temporal data mining. Transport for London (TfL) is the industrial partner. This supports 2 research associates and 1 PhD student for 3 years. There are 3 more PhD students (from other funding sources) joining the project. (PI: Tao Cheng, Co-I: B Heydecker, EP/G023212/1, £794,570)
