After London: Landscape and Eschatology
A collaboration with artist John Timberlake, Middlesex University, which began with an exhibition, After London, at the Stephen Lawrence Gallery, University of Greenwich (and associated event with the artist, Matthew Beaumont, UCL English and writer Will Self), with the resulting work published in the journal, Transmission Annual: Catastrophe, London: Artwords Press, 2012. Subsequently the research led to the co-organisation of conference at Tate Britain, Landscape and Eschatology, in connection with the exhibition John Martin: Apocalypse, in January 2012, with a selection of papers from the conference forming a section of Tate Papers (forthcoming, 2014). At UCL this research led to contributing to the organisation and chairing of a FIGS forum event on Collapse with Florian Mussgnug (SELCS). Aspects of the research with Timberlake, including Timberlake's original artwork for After London, were included in the exhibition One Day in the City at UCL Art Museum (2012).
