Health services research including mixed methods evaluation of interventions for people with intellectual disabilities (ID) and mental health problems
This study is in progress. A treatment manual has been developed for managing depression and/or anxiety for people with intellectual difficulties. Patient with ID attending two NHS services will be screened for anxiety and/or depression. Thirty patients will then be randomised to either up to 20 sessions of CBT or Treatment as Usual, delivered over4 months. The BDI-Y and BAI-Y will be the main outcome measure. We are also collecting health economic measures using the CSRI.
