Computational and Systems Medicine
To direct the UCL expansion into the field of computational and systems medicine. Its overarching goal is to provide systems approach to solve problems of health. We understand Systems Medicine as utilization of Systems Biology approach to medical problems. In its turn we understand Systems Biology as synergetics of Theoretical Physics, Mathematics, Informatics, Life Sciences and Systems Sciences to investigate complex systems in biology. The research is based on synthesis of experimental data analysis, computational modeling, analytical research and design of new experimental situations, i.e. implementation of methodology developed. The key strengths are strong background in theoretical physics and systems sciences close interaction with wet labs and clinical data mining state of art approaches in development of high-throughput technologies and computational modelling
