Cognitive Neuropsychiatry
Our aim is to in understand the neurobiological mechanisms underlying psychiatric symptoms. We utilise experimental techniques drawn from cognitive psychology, functional neuroimaging, psychopharmacology and genetics, both in patient groups and healthy volunteers.

Currently a major focus is investigating changes in reward processing and attention in schizophrenia, using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and magnetoencephalography (MEG). A related, but parallel research direction is to investigate how genetic variants associated with psychiatric disease affect behaviour and neurobiological function in healthy volunteers.
