Solar Physics
We are the Principle Investigating instute for the Extreme Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrometer (EIS) aboard the Hinode satellite. Hinode was launched in September 2006 and the combination of instuments on board are enabling study of the interaction between the Sun's magnetic field and its corona to increase our understanding of the causes of solar variability.
