The Tectonics and Lithospheric Evolution, in collaboration with other groups inside and outside the Department, exploits a broad range of skills for the analysis (in the field and laboratory) of the thermal and mechanical properties of the lithosphere, and the mechanics of crustal and lithospheric deformation. In-house research facilities include fission-track and palaeomagnetic laboratories, electron microprobe, SEM, and a range of equipment for petrological and geochemical analysis.
