Genetics

Genetics: UCL Genetics is a vibrant and cross-cutting research theme, incorporating the study of basic through to applied genetic science, including gene expression, genome regulation, forensic profiling, systems biology, evolutionary genetics, human genetics, population genetics, genetic epidemiology and statistical genetics. One of the current major research challenges is the use of genetics in health care, UCL Genetics is invigorating statistical genetics and bioinformatics to enable the translation of genetic science into understanding human health and the pathological mechanisms of human disease, and translating this knowledge into clinically relevant interventions and treatments.

UCL Genetics forms part of the wider Research Domain of ‘Frontier Disciplines’.
