Digital Health

The Digital Health theme focuses on the applications of digital technologies to advance the understanding of health, the delivery of healthcare and citizens’ self-management of their own health. The future health of everyone will rely not just on developments in pharmaceuticals, but also on developments in ways of gathering, interacting with, and analyzing data about people’s health, their lives and the environment they live in.

Digital Health brings together researchers across UCL with expertise in computer science, informatics, health and human behaviour. Activities include:

  • technology research in data sciences, algorithms, data visualisation, human–computer interaction, information security and networking for healthcare
  • population-level health research based on large health datasets
  • individualised healthcare delivery through digital health technologies.
UCL researchers in Digital Health work with healthcare professionals, industry, policymakers and the broader population, to advance research in digital health that is technologically leading and socially relevant. Our research is brought together under the UCL Institute of Digital Health.
