Evidence-informed teaching: an evaluation of progress in England
Abstract
This report sets out findings from a two-year study undertaken on behalf of the Department for Education in England. It is structured around the following research questions: 1. What do we know about effective use of research evidence? 2. To what extent are schools and teachers aware of, engaged with and/or using evidence to improve practice, and in what ways? 3. What are the key influences on the awareness, engagement and use of research evidence by schools and teachers? 4. How consistent are the messages on evidence-informed teaching that come from government and wider influencers?
