Abstract
The light propagation and anisotropic scattering models applicable to diffuse optical tomography were discussed. The anisotropic scattering model was proposed in the radiative transfer framework and the corresponding anisotropic diffusion model was derived. The diffusion model was able to describe the anisotropic behavior.
