    Medical Image Registration
Abstract
© 2001 by CRC Press LLC. Over the past 15 years image registration has been a very successful topic in the application of computer technology to medical image processing and analysis. In terms of satisfying the technical requirements of robustness and accuracy with minimal user interaction, rigid-body registration is considered by many working in the field to be a solved problem. Despite the technical success and widespread use in medical research, image registration has had less impact on routine healthcare than many proponents expected.
