Abstract
© 2019 Institution of Engineering and Technology. All rights reserved. A closed-form formula for the nonlinear interference estimation of arbitrary modulation formats in ultra-wideband transmission systems is presented. Enabled by the proposed approach, the formula is applied to the entire S+C+L band (20 THz) and validated by numerical simulations with experimentally measured fibre data.
