Abstract
Obtaining sufficient student feedback can be challenging, especially on distance learning courses. We have
nearly 100 students, based worldwide, on our distance learning Clinical Neurology course. In previous years
the response rate to our Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) has been very low: 14% in 2017
against a 32% national response rate (mainly face-to-face courses). A significant number of our students
come from ethnic minorities or from Developing Nations. For 2018 I wanted to encourage PTES inclusiveness
to clearly hear our diverse student body. I outline how individualised techniques led to an extraordinary 2018
PTES response rate of 68%.
