Abstract
We demonstrate effective homodyne optical phase locking to a phase-shift-keying (PSK) signal with residual carrier by exploiting 8b10b coding. Low-penalty transmission over 215 km of installed dispersion-compensated single-mode fibre is demonstrated. © 2011 Optical Society of America.
