New methods for simulating the form of buildings using virtual reality (VR) havesuddenly made it possible to link ways in which people use buildings to theirgeometric layout. VR opens up many different approaches to architectural simulationranging from agent-based modelling of movement within a building to representing abuilding as a multi-user world. We demonstrate some of these possibilities using theTate Gallery on London?s Millbank where we predict the impact of detailed changeson the configuration of rooms and the display of pictures.
