Abstract
The Curse of the Hedgehog stands head and shoulders over the cannon of documentary film on Roma, including work by the current author. This essay explores both the formal devices that Budrala uses and the telling range of thematic enquiries that the director engages in. The essay also explores the nature of ethnographic film as practice based research
