Tumours of the nervous system: from biology to therapy
The main objectives of this activity are: i) to investigate mechanisms underlying the transformation of neural stem cells and tumour development. We focus on tumour suppressive pathways and on how changes in energy metabolism can affect transformation. ii) To investigate mechanisms underlying cell fate control and resistance to therapy in brain cancer stem cells. We take advantage of the biobanking activity led by Prof Sebastian Brandner at UCL and close collaboration with the ICH, Institute of Cancer Research, Barts & the London and other leading institutions in and outside the London area and overseas. This work is supported by the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust
