Epidemiology, ecology and socio-economics of disease emergence in peri-urban Nairobi
A five-year study funded jointly by the UK Medical Research Council (MRC), the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) as part of the Living with Environmental Change Programme and coordinated by Dr Eric Fèvre of the Centre for Infectious Diseases, School of Biological Sciences, University of Edinburgh. DPU staff will contribute to a multidisciplinary team measuring, mapping, monitoring and mitigating drivers behind the emergence of zoonotic and food-borne diseases in urban and peri-urban Nairobi, Kenya.
