Biography

Jenny read Classics at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. She remained in Cambridge for her graduate and postdoctoral work before moving to UCL in 2010. She works on Ancient Philosophy, with a focus on Presocratic and Platonic epistemology. Her first book, Likeness and Likelihood in the Presocratics and Plato (CUP 2012) is a study of the philosophical development of the meaning of the Greek word eikos.

Research Summary

Jenny has an interest in philosophical methodology and, in particular, in the interaction of form and content within ancient philosophical writing. At present, she is working on articles on several topics, including Stoic theodicy and Plato's Phaedrus.

Teaching Summary
Jenny teaches courses in both Ancient Philosophy (this year, Plato and Aristotle) and Greek language.
