My research interest includes epidemiological aspects of the epilepsy particularly outcomes, pharmacology, antiepileptic drug development, epilepsy management in resource poor settings and genetic contributions to the aetiology of epilepsy.
I am involved in teaching activities both at UCL and in the Netherlands. These include teaching to UCL medical students, in-house lectures and tutorials to junior medical staff, pre and postgraduate students and other paramedical professionals. I do outpatient teaching at the NHNN, mostly for post-graduate students. I have regularly lectured to the Diploma Course in Neurology and the MSc. in Neurosciences at UCL. I have lectured extensively to learned societies both in the UK and abroad. I frequently lecture at local postgraduate centres throughout the UK and abroad.
