Research Summary

My primary research interest is to develop and validate novel techniques to non-invasively investigate brain function using MRI. I am based at the UCL Centre for Advanced Biomedical Imaging, which houses 11 different advanced imaging modalities. By working in a pre-clinical setting, this allows me to acquire precise data in highly experimentally controlled conditions with validation through comparison to invasive and ex-vivo measurements.

In recent years, I have been developing fMRI and quantitative imaging methods to investigate Alzheimer’s Disease pathogenesis and the mechanisms underlying neurovascular coupling (that drive the blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD) signal).

I am currently co-director of the new MSc in Advanced Biomedical Imaging, established in 2015.
