Rob Miller is Reader in Clinical Infection at UCL, Honorary Professor at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Honorary Consultant Physician at Camden Provider Services, Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, and at University College London Hospitals. Since 2010 he has been Editor in Chief of British Journal of Hospital Medicine, and from 2002-2009 was co-Editor of Sexually Transmitted Infections. Chair of Trial Steering Committee  for MRC's MIST-2, TIME-1, and TIME-2 pleural disease trials. Member of Guidelines Writing Committee for: Guidelines for treatment and prevention of opportunistic  infections in HIV-infected adults (British HIV Association/British Infection Association: 2011), Treatment guidelines for tuberculosis (TB)/HIV infection (British HIV Association 2009 and 2011), Guidelines for prevention and treatment of opportunistic infections in HIV-infected adults and adolescents (US National Institutes of Health/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/HIV Medicine Association of the Infectious Disease Society of America, 2009 and 2012).


Research Summary

Research focuses on the respiratory complications of HIV infection, specifically Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia and tuberculosis, ICU outcomes for HIV-infected patients, and infectious and malignant pleural disease among the general population.

Teaching Summary

Teaches within the MSc programme in Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV, as well as teaching Undergraduate Clinical Medical Students, and on other Masters and Diploma courses.
